1. Tents are a perfect complement to outdoor events.

Minnesota is beautiful, and our outdoor spaces can be a gorgeous backdrop for events. Tents provide a welcome retreat from sun and rain and can still offer outdoor views.

 

2. Tents are a blank slate.

Each person has an idea for the ultimate look of an event, and tents are a perfect canvas on which to paint those visions. Rather than battling with crazy hotel ballroom décor or struggling to cover up areas of a less-than-perfect venue, tents give you the opportunity to craft your design from the ground up (literally) by opting for vintage, glamorous, casual or sparkly. Whatever your style, tents can be transformed into the perfect “venue.”

3. No matter the size of your event, there’s a tent that fits!

We all know that guest lists can grow rather quickly, especially for celebrations and social events. Plus, activities like dancing and games demand even more space. Suddenly, you need quite a large venue to accommodate everything, but larger venues are harder to find and are sometimes horribly configured. Tents are an alternative that solve those issues because they are reasonably priced, offer customizable sidewalls, and are available in various styles and sizes.

 

4. Tents give peace of mind.

There are only a few elements that can have a drastic impact on an events outcome  - and weather can be an uncontrollable factor. To reduce worry and stress, renting a tent “just in case” may be worth it to you. If the weather ends up cooperating, you can use  the tent for a slightly different purpose, like housing a few tables for guests who are sensitive to sun.

  • Great for smaller backyard events such as graduations or birthday parties

  • Needs 6’ clearance on each side for staking         to the ground

  • Not recommended in windy conditions

  • Track lighting available for center or side poles

  • Recommend delivery and set up by Festivities at event location to ensure proper and secure construction

  • Size: 20’ X 30’

 

Pop-up Tent

 

  • Flexibility in set-up and layout based on the space available

  • Smaller frame tents can be attached to one another to create one large tent

  • More stable than rope tents because they are supported with poles

  • Sidewalls (solid or windowed, or both window and door) available for add-on

  • Track lighting, twinkle lighting, globe lighting and halogen lighting are available

  • Gutter is required when multiple tents are     being attached

  • Tenting and city permits required 48 hours or more before the set up

  • Delivery and set up by Festivities

  • Sizes: 10’ x 10’ and 10’ x 20’ and 20’ x 20’

 

Square or Rectangular Frame Tents

  • Appropriate for larger events like wedding receptions/ceremonies, large banquets and  social events

  • Flexible design allows for arrangements with other frame tents (ex: combine two hexes together, combine a 20’ x 20’ and a hex, or       two 20’ x 20’ with a hex in the middle)

  • Sidewalls (solid or windowed, or both window and door) available for add-on

  • Track lighting, twinkle lighting, globe lighting and halogen lighting are available

  • Gutter is required when multiple tents are being attached

  • Delivery and set up by Festivities

  • Size: base 40’

 

  • Mainly used for large events of 200+ people, beautiful for wedding receptions and large scale events

  • Largest tents

  • Needs an extra 10’ border around the outside of the tent for staking

  • Sidewalls (solid or windowed, or both window and door) available for add-on

  • Track lighting, twinkle lighting, globe lighting and halogen lighting are available

  • Tenting and city permits required 48 hours or more before the set up

  • Recommend delivery and set up by Festivities at event location to ensure proper and secure construction

  • Sizes: 40’ x 40’ and 40’ x 60’ and 40’ x 80’            and 40’ x 100’

ADDITIONAL TENTING INFO

Sidewalls

Sidewalls are pieces of fabric hung around the sides of the tent to enclose the interior. These can be added to most frame and pole tents. The options are solid walls, window walls, and doors.

 

Gutters

Gutters are used to collect any rainwater and divert it to the outer edge of the tent when two or more tents are put up next to each other or against a building. The typical length of a gutter is 10’ – 40’ by approximately 2’ wide.

 

Linears

Linears are decorative fabric used to line ceilings or sides of tents. They provide a professional and finished look to the tent atmosphere.

 

Pole Covers

Pole covers are fabric wrapped around the poles of the tent. Like ceiling linears, they provide a finished look to the tent.

Stages & Platforms

Stages and platforms can be set up inside tents to accommodate special event needs. Festivities offers staging as well as dance floors for rent.

 

Lighting

White track lighting is available for inside tenting; it has two lights attached to the track for the 20’ x 20’. Globe or twinkle lighting can be installed around any of the poles in the tent. Halogen lighting is also available and is installed in the center of the tent. Chandeliers, spotlights, and uplights can be added.

 

Heaters & Fans

Pedestal heaters, A/C units, and fans are available for tents. Heaters are only recommended for tents without side walls. While all of the tents are flame retardant, the heaters use propane which should only be used in well ventilated areas. Two A/C units per 20’ x 20’ tent is recommended.

Considerations for Tenting Your Event

 

  • How many people do you need to fit in the tent?

  • What is the size of the land?

  • Is it on grass or cement?

  • Is there tree coverage?

  • Will you want or need heaters, fans, or A/C? When can set up and tear down occur?
